OK so the Lensbaby project is officially over, though a few of us will continue. I’m sad about that, but very thankful that for once, I finished a photography project I started. Go me!
Anyway, this month I had the opportunity to go to the Ice Castle in Midway, Utah. Naturally my camera – and Lensbaby – came with me. I found that shooting with the LB at the ice castle was hard! VERY hard. The color and intensity of the lights illuminating the ice were constantly shifting – faster than I could manually focus and expose. It was crowded, dark, and (naturally) cold! I’m not loving most of what I got with the LB. I think I did much better with the traditional lenses I took with me that night.
But the Lensbaby ones are not awful, for sure, and the experience really pushed me to think about light and how I shoot probably more than any of the other LensBaby shoots I’ve done in the last year.
So without further ado…
