Kyra in the snow | Outdoor portrait session

This post is a new kind of post for me. I’ve decided to start posting the occasional personal photos here as well as my professional work.
My oldest daughter, Kyra, is amazing. (I may have a slight bias there, but it is based in truth!) Last year, for Mother’s Day, she gave me the dress she is wearing in these photos. You might think giving ME a dress that fits HER is an odd gift, my husband certainly did! But with the dress came a promise that she would pose for me in “Trash the Dress” type sessions. We did a few over the summer, and one last fall, but when she suggested a snowy one, I was worried she would freeze! A quick trip to the thrift store got us the shawl and hat, and we went to a park near the college she attends. We laughed a ton, we got silly, and we kept warm with some rice packs kept in an insulated cooler in between shots. I loved the results, and I am so grateful Kyra suggested the session!
Best Mother’s Day gift EVER!
